Faust, John R., MD

John R. Faust, MD
Assistant Professor, Pediatric Orthopaedic Service
Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery

Dr. Faust specializes in the non-operative and operative treatment of musculoskeletal (bone and joint) problems in children and adolescents. During medical school his infant daughter was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. She was treated non-operatively with a harness and now her hips are normal. This experience inspired Dr. Faust to specialize in pediatric orthopaedics. He treats patients with all pediatric orthopaedics problems but has a particular interest in spine and hip deformities as well as arthroscopy. His research on early onset scoliosis as well as hip dysplasia has been presented at national and international medical society meetings. Dr. Faust is passionate about caring for children and volunteers locally and internationally. He holds a monthly clinic at the Ruthe B. Cowl Rehabilitation Center in Laredo, TX. He has been on medical mission and education trips and in Mexico, Honduras, and El Salvador. He also served a mission for his church in Brazil. Dr. Faust and his wife have four children that keep them very busy. The family specializes in swimming with floaties, riding bikes faster than their mother approves, and perfecting innocent mischief.
